Blood Pressure meters are used to successfully treat hypertension (High Blood Pressure). A consistent blood pressure reading of 140/90 mm HG or higher is considered high blood pressure.

It is important to note that some people only suffer from high blood pressure when they visit the doctors so it is advisable to monitor your blood pressure in a more relaxed environment. However, one single reading does not provide an accurate picture of your blood pressure as your levels will naturally vary throughout the day. If you take regular readings at the same time of day over a period of time, you will have a good measure of your blood pressure level. By recording the readings, you can then show them to your GP when you next visit them.

It is important to ensure you hold the blood pressure wrist monitor in the right position – heart level. If it isn’t carried out in this manner, the reading will be inaccurate.
