Free workouts forever! - With home exercise equipment you can workout without health club fees
Many people like going to the gym. They enjoy the atmosphere and welcome the encouragement from friends or their personal trainer. But unfortunately for many, life just seems to keep getting in the way of their personal fitness program. So, imagine what it would be like if there was a practical alternative.
What if you could purchase home exercise equipment and set up your own personal gym. With help from Elite Sports you can!
Just think about it, no more long drives to the health club, no waiting in line for the next piece of exercise equipment or listening to that loud thumping music that you have to shout over to be heard. And best of all, with some careful thought and good advise, your own gym can probably be financed by what you are no longer paying in fees.
But before you purchase just any home exercise equipment, give some consideration to what your goals are. Because the reality of the matter is that all home exercise equipment is not equal!
The exercise equipment that you need to purchase will be mostly determined by what you want to achieve. If your aim is to lose weight then you need a cardiovascular fitness program. To build muscles you need a resistance training program. And to tone your muscles you will probably need a combination of both.
Suitable home exercise equipment might include:
Exercise bikes:
 |
Exercise bikes (like the Marcy Ascot shown here) are simple to use and take up a small amount of space. There are two types of bike that you can buy. Upright cycles look similar to out door bikes. They can rapidly increase the intensity of your workout as they allow you to sprint "out of the saddle". Recumbent cycles are more comfortable as the seat is closer to the ground with the pedals in front of you, but they are also more expensive.
Working out with an exercise bike is particularly good in the way that resistance controls the intensity of your workout. Lighter resistance improves cardiovascular fitness while higher resistance improves muscle tone. |

Treadmill running machines:
|
Out of all fitness equipment, treadmills (like the Horizon Ti21 shown here) offer the highest calorie burn. This is because the user is fully supporting their body weight when exercising, and working against their weight as they "push off" on each stride. They are also very easy to use as walking and running comes naturally to us all and so no special techniques or skills need to be learnt. |

Elliptical cross-trainers:

|
For low impact aerobic exercise, elliptical/cross trainers (like the Bremshey Ambiton shown here) are ideal. Your feet are constantly on the foot plates while the machine guides your legs through an oval shape movement. Some models can be adjusted to imitate stair climbing, mimic running or cross-country skiing. Others have arm leavers to provide a workout for the upper and lower body at the same time. |
