Note:- The body mass index reading is unable to be absolutely accurate as it is unable to take into consideration people with muscular bodies due to muscle being heavier than body fat. Body Fat Percentage Body fat is vital to the daily body functions by cushioning the joints, protecting the organs, regulating body temperature, storing vitamins and sustaining the body when food is scarce. However, having too much body fat is very unhealthy, making you overweight and prone to chronic diseases.
You can find out your body fat percentage by using the Oregon Scientific GA 101 Body Analyser Scales. This works by sending a very low harmless electrical signal through your body to measure the total volume of water in your body. Body fat contains more water than muscle so the scales are able to detect the level of lean tissue in your body.

Note: - Certain factors can alter a person’s body fat percentage reading. For example, the reading is generally lower than normal after exercising or having a bath and the reading would normally be higher than normal after waking up or eating a meal. The ideal time to weigh yourself is between late afternoon and early evening (ideally two hours after eating lunch and before the evening meal) as there is less fluctuation in a persons body weight and hydration levels.Overall, watching your body fat percentage can be very motivational when dieting, especially if exercising is part of your weight loss regime.
